NYC Bomber Event
Oct 28th, 2021
A few weeks ago we packed a giant suitcase full of unreleased CUTS products and boarded a plane headed for New York City. There were five of us. We were about to embark on a trip that, as a brand, we had dreamt of doing since the early days.
After selling primarily t-shirts for the past five years, this trip represented the culmination of CUTS’ growth as a brand – both in our product line and our community – and what better way to celebrate than to throw an event memorializing the moment. To announce the release of our new Legacy Bomber jacket, we invited over thirty of our closest brand partners for an exclusive unveiling party. The idea was simple: good food, good drinks, and great people all coming together to celebrate a meaningful moment in our brand’s story.
We landed in New York City late on a Thursday night and set out for a necessary 2am pit-stop at the iconic Prince St. Pizza. If you’ve never had PSP – book a flight to NYC now and grab a slice, you’ll understand what the hype is all about. The next morning we headed to Brooklyn to explore the venue for our dinner, which was being held at The Osprey none other than the 1Hotel next to the Brooklyn Bridge. We spent the next few hours getting everything ready so the night would be perfect. We unpacked the bombers and folded them nicely into our branded Cuts gift boxes. Presentation is everything for us.
We also had a chance to speak with the head chef at the restaurant where he ran us through the menu. We wrapped up the set up by making sure the tables were set with the required adornments. Then it was back to Manhattan to get ready for the night.
Come 7pm, we were back at the 1Hotel and our partners started arriving. Immediately the energy was at an all time high. We started with drinks and conversation and everyone took their seats. It was at this point that Ethan took the opportunity to address the group with the exciting news – CUTS was officially dropping a bomber jacket, and every single person in attendance was getting one. The group of guys lit up. We’re pretty sure the entire restaurant hated us at this point. But we didn’t care - we just dropped a new product! From that point forward the night was electric. All the guys were commenting on the quality, look and feel of the piece. It was a years worth of work all culminating in an incredible event with some of our closest partners providing real-time, positive feedback about our new jackets. A new product category we’d never tried before, and it was already a massive success. Rest assured, we’ll be doing plenty more of these in the future. Only next time, it’ll be bigger and better. Because that’s how we do things at CUTS.
