In early January we got the call from our friend, Connor Reilly — a content creator based in Los Angeles.
“What’s up guys, I’m driving to Utah next week to shoot with Gustavo. We’re trying to drift his car through the mountains. You guys want in?”
It was a no-brainer. Gustavo won Le Mans a few years back, and he’s maintained a solid trajectory to stardom within the endurance racing scene ever since. That is, without mentioning the insane amount of raw talent in the lineup of creators who would be joining us. So Ethan and I packed up our bags and hopped on a flight to Salt Lake City.
When we got to Utah we ate some bomb food at White Horse Kitchen and geared up for some powder turns (in a car) the next day. In the morning Gustavo sat down with me for an interview to kick off our Always On series. Always On is a video series we’ve been concepting for a while, and when Connor reached out about this partnership Ethan and I agreed that we needed to make an episode with Gustavo.
After the interview, we ripped up one of the canyons outside of SLC, and ended up on a cross country skiing track, just down-canyon from Brighton Ski Resort. The track was about ten feet wide with trees on either side. Gustavo stepped on it, and we were off - drifting through the mountains as promised. We shot until sunset and got some insane footage.
The rest of the trip involved some time spent in Park City, an epic sunrise shoot, and a lot of coffee. Within forty-eight hours of arriving, Ethan and I were packed up and back at the airport.
